The MDH Substance Abuse Treatment Program is an intensive
8-week community reintegration program developed exclusively for male offenders with a chronic history of substance use. The program has three overarching goals:

To assist residents to transition successfully from the institution to the community.

To provide residents with booster training to ensure the successful transfer of coping skills taught while incarcerated.

To focus on developing relapse prevention and maintenance skills that will facilitate a drug-free lifestyle.

The MDH Program is an open-ended program that permits continuous intake. It is offered over an eight week period. "Module 1: Orientation" and "Module 8: Reintegration" are delivered on a one-on-one basis. After completing Module 1 the participants can enter the program at the beginning of any Module.
